Three Spaces · One Studio
Every space was
designed with intention.

Chispita Studio is not a classroom. It is three connected environments — each one designed around a specific purpose, a specific group of people, and a specific philosophy of what happens when children and caregivers are given a space that was built for them.

No two zones feel the same. But they belong together.

The Atelier
The creative heart of the studio

Where children make things. Real materials, real process. Scheduled sessions, from the very beginning through age twelve.

The Coffee Zone
Designed for the people who bring the children

Specialty coffee. A glass wall with a sightline to the library. A place to exhale.

The Library
Free · Always open

A sculptural tree structure, turf reading steps, a curated collection. Open to everyone. Reservation required. Same-day accepted. Ever.

The Atelier
The Atelier
"The path matters more than the destination."

The Atelier is the creative engine of Chispita Studio. A working studio — not a classroom, not just a craft room. Designed for children who are already thinking, already wondering, already reaching.

From the very beginning – age 12 Guide-facilitated Scheduled sessions Open-ended materials
What's Inside
Acrylic Easel Wall
A custom acrylic panel mounted along the wall. Children paint directly on the surface. Materials placed behind it shift the provocation each session.
Birch work tables
Natural wood surfaces sized for small hands. Room for eight to ten children simultaneously.
Sensory corner
Sand, water, natural materials, textured surfaces. Sensory exploration does not have an age limit.
Building corner
Loose parts, blocks, found objects, wire, cardboard. Materials with no predetermined outcome.
The guide
Moving through the room — observing, documenting, asking questions. Creating conditions for thinking to go deeper.
What Happens Here

A child walks in and the room is already waiting. There is so much to explore they don’t know where to start — and then something catches their eye and they go directly there. No hesitation. No permission needed.

That is the moment. The spark of creativity arriving before a single material has been picked up. The mind already a million miles ahead, imagining everything they are going to make.

And then they start. And something shifts. The making takes over.

The Atelier is not where children come to make art. It is where they come to think out loud — and the materials are the language.

For the grownup

Your child may come home with something — a drawing, a clay piece, a collage. It might not be the final product but it is a reminder. A record of where their mind went that day. Ask them about it. That conversation is the real thing.

The Coffee Zone
The Spark
"A space that was built for you. Not just for them."

Most children's studios treat grownups as an afterthought. Chispita Studio was designed from the beginning with the understanding that the person who brings the child is also someone who deserves a space.

What's Here
Specialty coffee
Sourced from a local roaster, operated by us, brewed with intention.
A place to exhale
Comfortable seating. A warm cup. A space designed for grownups to gather, rest, and enjoy — while children do what Reggio Emilia has always known they can: direct their own learning, follow their curiosity, and discover the world on their own terms.
The glass wall
A direct sightline to the Atelier and the Library. Your child can see you — and go deeper into their work knowing you are close. You can see them — and let go, just a little, knowing they are exactly where they need to be.
Why It Matters

Designed by parents, for parents. The Coffee Zone exists because grownups are not a footnote in the story of their child's discovery — they are essential to it. A present, rested grownup is the most powerful thing a child can have in the room next door.

The exhale you didn’t know you needed. A moment that is yours. That is The Spark.

The Library
The Library
"A space to feel welcomed. A space that belongs to everyone."

The Library does not require a membership. You arrive with your reservation, find a book, and stay a while. It is Chispita Studio's gift to the community.

Newborn through 12 years old No membership required Reserve your visit · same-day accepted Curated collection
What's Inside
The sculptural tree structure
A sculptural tree at the center of the room. The thing children will remember. The thing grownups will photograph on the first visit.
Turf reading steps
Graduated steps that radiate from the base of the tree. Children sit, lie, drape over them. The steps invite the body into reading.
Curated collection
Board books through chapter books. Picture books that are genuinely beautiful. Built with care, not filled by donation.
A listening corner
A rug. Low seating. Pendant lighting. A place for a story to be read aloud or a child to sit alone with a book.
The glass wall
Connects to the coffee zone visually — grownups and children remain connected without disrupting the session.
Why It Exists

West Orange County is growing faster than almost anywhere in the state. Families are arriving every month — and with them, a need for spaces that feel considered, curated, and calm.

The Library is a space to feel welcomed. To feel at peace. To be comfortable enough to explore — a book, a corner, a quiet afternoon with your child — without any barrier between you and that moment.

The Library is not an amenity for paying members. It is a community space. Anyone can arrive with a reservation. Anyone is welcome.

The best libraries feel like they were made for you — regardless of who you are or where you're from.
